GRADE 5 and 6 pupils at Toolern Vale and District Primary School have monitored the effect of urban growth on native birds as part of a pilot project.
Students including Harry, Alex and Sasha (pictured with Birdlife Australia’s Annette Cook) recently presented their findings to representatives of Birdlife Australia, Melton council and local environmental groups.
Pupil Lily said birds were an important part of nature. “If we learn more about them we can help them and stop any more extinctions.”
