MELTON remains on the cusp of the top four in Hockey Victoria women’s Vic League 2 after a 1-0 win against Knox on Saturday.
Megan Shadbolt’s goal improved Melton to 17 points, behind Casey (17) on goal difference and a point behind fourth-placed Greater Dandenong Warriors (18).
In men’s Vic League 3, Melton thrashed PEGS 5-0 with two goals each to Bennett Salvin and Matthew Baker and one to Chris Brewster.
The win was Melton’s third of the season, its 11 points still six off the finals pace of fourth-placed Eastern Christan Hockey Organisation (ECHO).
Melton’s men play Collegians X at Monash Clayton this Saturday. The women host Old Xaverians from 3.30pm at Melton Hockey Club.
