BACCHUS Marsh returned to the mix for a Ballarat Netball League A-grade double chance by seeing off Ballarat by eight goals on Saturday.
The last-placed Swans are yet to win a game but have fallen to a number of single-figure defeats, going down to the Cobras 46-38 on Saturday.
The win lifted Bacchus Marsh (4-3) to 20 competition points, two wins behind second-placed Melton (5-1) albeit from one extra game played.
The Bloods were comfortable 46-29 winners against Redan, largely untroubled after a 14-1 opening quarter.
Brooke Thompson, Jess Bartlett and Melissa McCauley (33 goals) were the Bloods’ best.
Ladder leader North Ballarat City (6-0) pulled away from Melton South after a tight opening quarter to win 61-33.
Andrea Tai (25 goals), Bonne Hobson and Monique Robertson were better Panthers players in the defeat.
Elsewhere, East Point beat Sunbury 50-45 while Lake Wendouree beat Sebastopol 52-33.
In Riddell District Netball League A grade, Melton Centrals’ winning streak rolled on with a 53-21 victory against Wallan.
Defender Mel Laird and Renee Hulls (31 goals) were leading Centrals players.
Around the courts, Sunbury Roos edged Romsey 41-39, Riddell beat Rupertswood 41-30, Macedon beat Broadford 57-18 and Woodend Hesket downed Rockbank 38-26.
