VICTIMS of crime will have better access to support services thanks to the expansion of a Western Region Health Centre program.
Funding announced in last month’s state budget will allow the organisation to set up a ‘victims assistance counselling program’ at Melton police station. It follows the success of WHRC’s Werribee program, launched in 2010.
The program will help victims access information and support.
‘‘It’s incredibly helpful for people to access [that ]after a crime,’’ WHRC CEO Lyn Morgain said.
