WESTERN Jets slipped out of the TAC Cup top eight after an 18-point loss to Tasmania at Highgate Reserve on Saturday.
Tasmania led at every change to win 12.9 (81) to 8.15 (63), with Mitch Norton the Jets’ only multiple goal-kicker with four.
Kade Kolodjashnij, who collected 38 possessions, 10 marks and two goals, was the standout for Tasmania and it was a perfect preparation for the AFL under-18 national championships.
The Jets’ best were Norton, Lachlan Hickey, Jason Robinson, Jake Greiser, Liam Duggan and James Sicily.
Greiser and Sicily are both in the Vic Metro under-18 squad, but the travelling team for the opening match of the championships was yet to be named when The Weekly went to print.
Vic Metro will face Queensland in Brisbane on Saturday, while the Jets’ next match is against Murray Bushrangers in Wangaratta on June 1.
