Family ties to Melton, for all to see

WENDY Barrie’s family history in Melton stretches as far back as 1860, and now it’s on display for all to see.

With help from Woodgrove shopping centre, Ms Barrie (pictured) has created a ‘walk through time’ that highlights Melton’s past.

The 80-metre Edna Barrie archives display some of the key moments since her great-great-grandmother arrived in Melton.

Ms Barrie inherited many family photos and archives from her mother, an avid photographer.

“My whole historical family connection is in Melton and that means a lot to me and all my family. My grandfather attended Melton Primary School, as did my mother and I.”
