One killed, two hurt

Police are investigating a smash in Toolern Vale that killed a Melton man, 19, and left another motorist seriously injured. Investigators have been told a truck and two cars collided on Gisborne-Melton Road about 9am, Friday. A Trentham woman, 42, who was driving the second car, was airlifted to Royal Melbourne Hospital with serious injuries. A Coburg man, 62, who was driving the truck, was taken to Footscray Hospital. The Melton man died at the scene. Police want to speak to the drivers of two semi-trailers who may have information that could assist in the investigation.
