A rattling good record for Good Friday Appeal

AN army of young volunteers has helped Bacchus Marsh set a Good Friday Appeal record by raising nearly $30,000 for the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Area manager Ben Noble (pictured with Bacchus Marsh Grammar’s Kaitlyn, Georgia and William) said the final total of $28,364.20 was nearly $4000 more than last year, placing Bacchus Marsh 22nd on the total fund-raising list for Victorian towns.

With a population of 5760, Bacchus Marsh rivalled Seymour ($28,812 from 6371 people), Stawell ($30,839 from 6150), Colac ($25,852 from 8696), Hamilton ($23,213 from 10,104) and Mooroopna ($30,736 from 7813).

Mr Noble said the total amount was helped along by $958 collected at Melton’s Tabcorp Park and a tin rattle at Woodgrove shopping centre, which netted $718.

Members of Melton’s Uncle Bobs Club collected $2485.15 at local intersections.
