RESIDENTS with mobility issues will be able to explore tracks across the Moorabool and Hepburn region thanks to the launch of an all-terrain wheelchair.
Mayor Pat Toohey said the free TrailRider service would offer people an opportunity to access surfaces that were not accessible with conventional wheelchairs.
The wheelchair, an initiative of the Moorabool/Hepburn Transport Connections Project, will be available for hire from Bacchus Marsh’s Lerderderg library and the Daylesford Regional Visitor Information Centre.
The chair is easily disassembled and fits in the back of a car.
Two operators are required to assist in managing the chair, with four people recommended on very rough terrain.
