THE first serve was made at the Diggers Rest Tennis Club on March 5, 1913.
One hundred years later, the club is still going strong and will celebrate its centenary at a reunion on Sunday.
Secretary Kim Bouchier (pictured with her mother Audrey Bateman) says the event is open to anyone who has been associated with the club in the past 100 years.
Mrs Bateman, 97, is the oldest living former member. Ms Bouchier, herself a member since 1969, said: “There’s been a lot of changes since 1913. It’s been lovely to play, on nice new courts. That was a big change, going from cement to grass courts and to actually having a clubroom.”
The reunion starts at 2pm and will include a barbecue.
