Man charged with carrying fake pistol

A Melton man was arrested after he was caught carrying an imitation firearm at a Melton nightclub on February 10. Patrons alerted security staff after they noticed a man with what they believed was a handgun. Security guards disarmed the man and called police. The man, 24, was charged with a number of offences and bailed to appear at Sunshine Magistrates Court on May 15.

Driver returns positive drug test

Police have charged a Melton woman after she returned a positive drug test while driving with a baby in the back seat. The 29-year-old was driving an unregistered and unroadworthy Holden Calais while on a suspended licence. The woman was charged on summons and her male passenger, the car’s owner, was given an infringement notice.
