TWO men pursued a teenage girl and one later sexually assaulted her as she walked home from work in Melton on Tuesday.
Detectives are investigating the incident, which occurred while the girl, 15, walked along Barries Road about 9.15pm.
The two men were in a white, late-model station wagon and approached the girl, a police spokeswoman said.
Police want to speak to this man, pictured in Station Street, Fairfield.
One got out of the car as the girl walked into Blackwood Reserve. He sexually assaulted her but she broke free and ran to the Melton police station to report the attack, the spokeswoman said.
The attacker is described as being southern European in appearance, about 183 centimetres with a medium build and bald on the top of his head.
He had distinctive top teeth, was wearing khaki shorts and jacket, a light coloured T-shirt and skate brand shoes. He is believed to be aged in his mid-to-late 30s and spoke with a strong accent.
Detectives from the Footscray sexual offences and child-abuse investigation team have released an image of a man they believe can help with inquiries.
