MELTON chased down Yarraville to record a potentially season-defining win in South-West First XI on Saturday as it made 6-280 to beat Yarraville (9-227) with an over to spare.
Patrick McKenna (106) and Mick Allen (96) shared a 182-run partnership for the second wicket.
Jeremy Liddy (31no) and Jesse Merlo (22no) scored the winning runs after steady wickets through the middle order had reduced Melton to 6-231.
Melton retains second, with Caulfield (45) leading from Melton, Werribee and Ormond all on 39 points.
