EMERGENCY services have contained a fire in Melton West that destroyed a single-storey house in Robina Court this morning.
CFA District 14 duty officer Phil Peacock said 20 firefighters worked to contain the fire that started about 11.30am.
Mr Peacock said it is believed that no residents were at home but a full investigation will take place.
He said firefighters used breathing apparatuses inside the remains of the house.
“The fire combined with the hot weather today, results in very tiring work so we have quite a few crew changeovers.’’
CFA said the cause was unknown at this stage but will be investigated this afternoon.
