MELTON and Moorabool residents are being encouraged to help less fortunate children this Christmas by leaving a gift at Kmart Melton’s wishing tree.
Hand-made and bought presents or cash donations are accepted as part of the annual campaign. Melton staff, including Vicki (pictured with the Salvation Army’s Evan Cassidy), hope to collect 3000 gifts locally this year.
Shoppers are being asked to take a gift tag from the tree and write the age and gender of a suitable recipient before placing the gift under the tree at the Woodgrove shopping centre store.
Gifts don’t need to be bought from Kmart, and vouchers are accepted. Gifts can be donated until Christmas Eve.
