CR Paul Tatchell and Inspector Nick Finnegan will join residents of Blackwood and surrounding areas in an emergency evacuation exercise this Sunday from 11am to 2pm.
The drill, which includes the testing of a community alert siren, will be co-ordinated by Moorabool Council, the CFA and local police.
Inspector Finnegan said the exercise will allow emergency services personnel and residents to test their response to a bushfire threat.
He said that with no neighbourhood safer place in the area, the only safe option for residents in a bushfire was to leave early or evacuate when safe to do so. For more safety tips, visit fireready.vic.gov.au
