Werribee Districts and Caroline Springs stars claim top honours

Werribee Districts’ Dillon Viojo-Rainbow and Caroline Springs’ Dijana Vasilevska,claimed the Western Region Football League’s top honours.

The midfielder was named the winner of Barry Priest medal for the best player in the division 1 competition at the league’s awards night on Thursday night.

Parkside’s Shaun Campbell took home the Alan Smith Medal for the division 2 best and fairest, and the Ron & Thelma Angwin Medal for the division 3 best and fairest was received by Albanvale’s Liam Montrose.

The division 1 women’s best and fairest was announced as Caroline Springs’ Dijana Vasilevska, and Wyndhamvale’s Mariah Burton won in the senior women’s division 2 category.

Netball’s division 1 winner is Point Cook Centrals’ Rebecca Hicks, and Te Pono Aukaha, who won in the division 2 award.

Albanvale Blue’s Kelly Greenwood, Manor Lakes’s Amanda Borley and Point Cook Centrals’ Kelly Hanniver took home wins in division 3, 4 and 5, respectively.

The under-18 division 1 best and fairest was awarded to Werribee Districts Brock Spiteri, and in division 2, Sunshine’s Jude Elcheikh received the award.

Spotswood’s Kristie Lee Weston Turner earned the girls best and fairest for under 18.
