Two sides are well on their way to claiming first innings points after day one of their two-day clashes in the Gisborne and District Cricket Association B-grade competition.
Eynesbury, which needs to bounce back after a couple of poor matches, is 2-94 in reply to Riddell’s 115, with Tristan Francis taking 6-23 for the Eagles.
Wallan’s bowlers had a day out against Gisborne.
The Magpies made 175, before running through the Dragons’ batting line-up to have them struggling at 7-26 at stumps.
Adrian Barbour was the star for Gisborne earlier in the day, taking 8-65.
East Sunbury made 187 against Macedon, with Liam Sherlock top scoring with 57. The Cats will resume at 1-3.
In Sunday’s one-day games the top-five sides all got wins.
Wallan got home against Gisborne with three wickets in hand and East Sunbury chased down Macedon’s 8-180 with Tom Burnside making 70.
Eynesbury’s openers got the runs needed against Riddell, finishing 0-153 in chase of 9-150.
Ashfield’s good form with the bat continued against Kyneton putting on 9-215 before restricting Kyneton to 8-162, while ladder leaders St Anthonys’ beat Bacchus Marsh.
