Wallan came out on top in a high scoring affair against St Anthonys in the Gisborne and District Cricket Association’s B-grade competition.
In a match between the top two sides, and two of the biggest hitting sides, it was the batsmen who displayed their skills during the clash.
The Magpies made 374 on day one on the back of 126 from Kieran Atkin. The century was the third in four matches for Atkin.
The undefeated Saints started well and were 2-158 off 41 overs. They continued to push but ultimately fell short, finishing 9-360.
The result leaves both teams sitting four wins, a loss and a draw, heading into Christmas break.
Eynesbury has the same record, after defeating East Sunbury on Saturday.
The Thunder made 152 on day one and the Eagles were able to get the runs six wickets down.
The Eagles went on to make 213.
Liam Norris and Luke Castle top scored, both making 37.
East Sunbury remains fourth, just over a point clear of Ashfield.
Ashfield overcame a precarious position after day one, to defeat Macedon.
Resuming at 6-44 in chase of 179, Ashfield produced its best batting performance of the season to run away with the win.
Things didn’t look good early for Ashfield as they were 8-81, before Jas King and Russell Phillips got stuck in.
The two put on 160 run partnership to guide their side to the win. Ashfield finished 9-279.
King finished unbeaten on 107 and Phillips made 76.
Kyneton got its first win of the season, defeating Bacchus Marsh.
Chasing 188, Kyneton finished 6-285.
Nathan Scoble made 86, while Nick Tunzi made 60 not out.
Riddell also won its first game of the season, defeating Gisborne.
