While heavy rain at the weekend played havoc with cricket across the state, many players had their weekly fix earlier in the week.
The Gisborne and District, Victorian Sub-district, Victorian Turf and Ballarat cricket associations all had T20 fixtures on Tuesday night.
In the GDCA, the semi-finalists for both the premier and district competitions were decided.
Riddell, Woodend and Romsey all won through to the premier division semi-finals after winning both their matches.
Bacchus Marsh’s loss to Gisborne cost it a finals spot.
Gisborne made 4-150 on the back of 75 not out from skipper Jarryd Vernon. That proved to be enough, with the Bulls falling just short in making 141.
It meant Bacchus Marsh finished fifth, just percentage behind fourth-placed Rupertswood, which easily accounted for Sunbury on Tuesday.
In district division, Eynesbury made finals despite having points deducted for playing an unregistered player.
It will play Macedon for a spot in the grand final, while Wallan will host Kyneton in the other semi-final.
Another team to seal a finals berth was Sydenham-Hillside in the VTCA T20 competition. The Sharks finished on top of the Melton group.
The Sharks defeated Melton South Royals on Tuesday night in the third round of matches to seal their spot. The Sharks won all three of their matches. The top side from each group and the next best four teams all go through to the quarter-finals.
In the BCA, Darley opened its Major League T20 Cup campaign with a strong win against North Ballarat.
The Lions made 112, bowled out with five balls remaining. Matt Cape top-scored with 35 off 27 balls. The Lions then bowled North Ballarat out for 83.
The news wasn’t as good for Melton, which is out of the VSDCA T20 competition after one round.
On Tuesday night, the Lions lost to St Bernards OC.
St Bernards made 6-163 and the Lions replied with 8-154.
