Melton remains undefeated after beating Bacchus Marsh in the Ballarat Football League on Saturday.

It was a low scoring start at Maddingley Park, with only a goal each in the first quarter.

The Cobras kicked three goals in the second quarter to open up an 11 point lead at the main break.

The third quarter is called the premiership quarter and it proved to be that way on Saturday.

The Bloods kicked seven goals to none in the third quarter to turn the 11 point deficit into a 34 point lead.

While the Cobras won the final quarter, it wasn’t enough with the Bloods winning, 12.11 (83)-8.7 (55).

Ryan Carter kicked three goals for the Bloods with Braedan Kight chipping in with two.

Rex Hickman, Jake Owen and Rylan Porter kicked two goals each for the Cobras. Ruck Daniel Burton was named their best.

The Bloods are the only undefeated side after three rounds, while it was the Cobras first loss.

Darley got its second win of the season, beating Melton South at Melton Recreation Reserve.

It was an even first half with the Panthers leading by five points at half time.

The Devils kicked five goals in the third quarter to blow open the match.

It was an even last quarter, with the Devils winning 14.14 (98)-9.11 (65).

Nick Rodda kicked eight goals in the win and was named in the best along with captain Brett Bewley and Jake Ancrum.

For the Panthers, last season’s leading goal kicker Dylan Conway kicked five goals.

Jacob Thornton-Gielen was named the best.

The Sunbury Lions had the bye.

In other results, East Point beat Lake Wendouree, Ballarat beat North Ballarat and Redan was too good for Sebastopol.
