Melton Centrals are looking for players to join their women’s football side for this year.
Centrals, which have been around for more than 10 years, are the only women’s team based in Melton.
Former coach Janelle Martin said the current playing numbers were lower than they would have liked.
“We’re hoping with AFL women’s about to start that a few more players will come down,” she said.
“We had a lot of older players who have retired and some other players have moved on.
“A couple of players have move onto the VFL, which is good for them and good for the club to see players move to a higher level.”
Players of any ability were welcome to join the club, which also has junior and youth girl’s sides, providing a pathway for all females wanting to play football.
Martin said the club was in the process of appointing a new coach. Centrals play in the AFL Goldfields competition.
The club is holding a meet, greet and try night on Monday night from 6.30pm at Arnolds Creek Reserve. Anyone interested in playing is encouraged to attend.
