Melton has dropped out of the Ballarat Football League’s top six after going down to East Point by 20 points on Saturday.
The Bloods were left to rue a slow start, falling behind by 17 points in the first term.
But proving they were up for the challenge, Melton fought back across the next two quarters, booting nine goals to six to hold the momentum heading into the final 30 minutes.
But in front of their home fans, East Point produced their best to shut down the Bloods’ attack while booting six goals to seal the win 18.12 (120) – 14.16 (100).
Matthew Notman was among the best players for Melton, booting five goals, while Corey Patmore was also impressive.
