Lions remain winless

Melton remain winless in the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association with their 10th loss of the season on Saturday against Moorabbin.

Moorabbin batted first, making 5-240 off its 45 overs.

Joshua Oldfield and Joel Mitchener were the best of the Lions’ bowlers, both taking two wickets.

Despite one of their better batting performances, the Lions fell short making 207 off their 45 overs.

Renaldi Dias was the pick of Moorabbin’s bowlers taking four wickets.

The Lions sit last on the ladder.

Meanwhile, in the Victorian Turf Cricket Association, Caroline Springs defeated the Melton Centrals in division 4.

Caroline Springs batted first making 5-233 off 40 overs.

Kieran Bensley was the best of the Melton Centrals bowlers, taking two wickets.

Centrals made 7-163 off their 40 overs.

Gavin McCallum who took four wickets for the Falcons.

Caroline Springs sit second on the ladder, while Melton Centrals are bottom.

In division 5, Melton South Royals defeated Moonee Ponds.

The Royals batted first making 5-217 off 40 overs with Sachika Udara making a century, finishing with 105.

Moonee Ponds were bowled out for 86.

Chris Dunn was the pick of the Royals’ bowlers taking four wickets.

The Royals sit second on the ladder.
