The Ballarat Football League grand final on Saturday will be a battle between two of the eastern bloc clubs with the Sunbury Lions booking a spot against Bacchus Marsh.
The Lions faced minor premier Lake Wendouree in a preliminary final at the weekend, overcoming a slow start for a second straight week.
The Lakers kicked five of the first six goals to open up a handy lead before the Lions got going and reduced the margin to five points at the first break.
The Lions took control in the second and third quarters to open up a match-winning 29-point lead at three-quarter time.
The Lions won 14.21 (105)-9.14 (68).
Mathew Medcraft kicked four goals for the Lions with big man David Kovacevic bouncing back from a poor performance the week before.
In the reserves, Redan will take on East Point, which knocked out the Lions in a preliminary final.
Bacchus Marsh’s under-18.5s have fallen short of grabbing a grand final berth, beaten by North Ballarat City 8.9 (57)-3.4 (22).
In netball, North Ballarat City will play East Point in the A-grade grand final.
Sunbury Lions will face Lake Wendouree in the B-grade grand final and Ballarat in the C-grade decider.
It’s the battle of Ballarat in D grade, with North Ballarat City playing Ballarat, while Redan and Ballarat will do battle in the under-19s.
