Maddingley Park is set to be alive on Thursday night as number one draft pick Sam Lalor will debut for Richmond.

Lalor, who was selected first in last year’s draft, is one of three Tigers who will play their first games against Carlton.

The midfielder has overcame a jaw injury in the off season to be fit for round one. He played forward in his one practice match against West Coast and kicked two goals.

The Bacchus Marsh cricket and football clubs, which Lalor played for, will have the match on in their rooms.

“A proud product of both the footy and cricket club – it would be great to see those who can’t make it to the MCG come on down to Maddingley Park to watch with the rest of the Bacchus Marsh family,” the cricket club said.

“We are incredibly proud of you, Sammy. Go well.”
