Caroline Springs George Cross continued its good form in the National Premier League 3 competition on Saturday.

The Eagles got the first goal of the game in the 11th minute through a penalty, before the Georgies got an answering goal not long afterwards.

The Eagles went a player down after a red card in the 27th minute.

The Georgies took the lead late in the first half before extending the lead in the 58th minute.

The Eagles got one back in the 76th minute, but any hopes of a late equaliser were dashed when they were reduced to nine men in the dying minutes.

The Georgies are now up to third on the ladder, equal on points and goal difference with second placed Nunawading City.

Meanwhile, the Westside Strikers lost to Sebastopol Vikings, 1-0 in FV state league 3 north-west

Scores were locked at 0-0 at half time before the Vikings hit the front in the 72nd minute, It would be the only goal of the game.

The Strikers sit in eighth spot.

Melton Phoenix had a 4-1 win against Lara United in state league 5 west.

The Phoenix scored twice in the first half, before getting a goal early in the second half to have the game under control.

Lara got one back not long after, but its hopes were dashed when it went a man down.

The Phoenix managed to get a fourth to seal the win.

The Phoenix sit third on the ladder.
