Diggers Rest’s Riddell District Netball League season came to a disappointing end on Sunday.

Hoping to make it through to the second week of finals, the Burras were completely outplayed by Romsey.

The Redbacks delivered a dominant display in the elimination final battle between fourth and fifth, winning
48-18.

The Burras’ shooters struggled to get going, with Kathy Dicker and Monkia Dimovski shooting at a combined 48 per cent for the game.

The Redbacks, on the other hand, shot at 86 per cent, with two of their three goalers not missing a shot.

The win sees the Redbacks move on to a knockout semi-final against Macedon.

The Cats lost their qualifying final to Rupertswood 35-28.

In the other elimination final, Wallan shot away late against Riddell for a 46-31 win.

Wallan will face Rupertswood for a spot in the grand final in the other semi-final.

The Burras’ netballers had a mixed weekend.

Their B-graders lost an elimination final to Macedon 31-30.

The C-grade side won its qualifying final against Macedon 34-15 and will play Rupertswood for a spot in the grand final.

The Burras will be looking to make a third straight grand final.
