Diggers Rest’s Riddell District Netball League season came to a disappointing end on Sunday.
Hoping to make it through to the second week of finals, the Burras were completely outplayed by Romsey.
The Redbacks delivered a dominant display in the elimination final battle between fourth and fifth, winning
48-18.
The Burras’ shooters struggled to get going, with Kathy Dicker and Monkia Dimovski shooting at a combined 48 per cent for the game.
The Redbacks, on the other hand, shot at 86 per cent, with two of their three goalers not missing a shot.
The win sees the Redbacks move on to a knockout semi-final against Macedon.
The Cats lost their qualifying final to Rupertswood 35-28.
In the other elimination final, Wallan shot away late against Riddell for a 46-31 win.
Wallan will face Rupertswood for a spot in the grand final in the other semi-final.
The Burras’ netballers had a mixed weekend.
Their B-graders lost an elimination final to Macedon 31-30.
The C-grade side won its qualifying final against Macedon 34-15 and will play Rupertswood for a spot in the grand final.
The Burras will be looking to make a third straight grand final.
Melton Centrals’ B-grade side had a win in its elimination final and will face Romsey in a knockout semi-final.
