Diggers Rest scored its second win of the Riddell District Netball League season, beating Melton Centrals on Saturday afternoon.
After a confidence-boosting win the week before, the Burras continued that form on Saturday against Centrals.
It was an even first half and the Burras lead by two goals at the long break.
A 17-4 goal third quarter turned the game in the favour of the Burras, who were able to keep the momentum going to win 58-34.
Kathy Dicker shot 44 goals for the Burras, while Teagan Tiley shot 13 goals for Centrals.
Dicker was named the Burras best along with defenders Anica Scherer and Maggie Payne.
The win moves the Burras to sixth spot with a 2-2 record, having also had a bye.
Centrals sit one spot further back.
In other matches, Rockbank took it up to Rupertswood.
The Sharks led all day, but the Rams never went away and like last week finished strongly.
They were too far behind though and lost 40-35. Rebecca McCubbin scored 15 goals for the Rams.
Caitlin Twomey in the mid court was the Rams’ best. For the Sharks, Clare Johnson was the standout.
Riddell almost claimed the scalp of Wallan, falling just short.
In the closest game of the round, the Magpies led all day in the 50-47 win. The Bombers didn’t give up, closing the margin from eight goals at half time to three at the final siren.
Rebecca Hicks shot 73 goals in Romsey’s 82-27 win against Lancefield.
Macedon was too strong for Woodend-Hesket, winning 65-25.
