Devils through to prelim

Darley ended Bacchus Marsh’s finals run, while moving one step closer to Ballarat Football League Women’s grand final.

After a first week finals loss to Redan, the Devils were keen to get back on the winners list against the cross town rivals on Sunday.

Having won all previous encounters between the sides this year by more than 90 points, the Devils took plenty of confidence into the match against the Cobras.

While the Cobras were brave having made it this far in finals, they were no match for the Devils with the match following a similar trend to the others earlier this season.

The Devils had nine scoring shots to none in the first quarter and increased that lead in the second quarter.

The Devils continued to push in the second half, including six final quarter goals to come away with a 17.15 (117)-1.0 (6).

Kim Bessell and Madalyn Clarke kicked six goals a piece for the Devils.

Ella Tyson, Zoe Attard and Tamara Henry were named the Devils best.

The Devils now face Sebastopol for a spot in the grand final.

The Burras lost their semi final to premiership favourite Redan on Sunday.

The Lions controlled the game from start to finish to get a 10.21 (81)-1.3 (9) win.

Preliminary finals will be held at Marty Bush Reserve with the senior final the last of the day.

The Devils under-14 girls will start the day against the Storm in their preliminary final.
