It was a tough weekend for Melton in the Ballarat Netball League.
After two weeks off, the Bloods had the task of facing an undefeated Sunbury Lions side on Saturday.
The Lions had little trouble in getting the four points, winning 59-31.
Paige Gilcrist was the pick of the shooters for the Bloods with 21 goals from 29 attempts.
The loss sees the Bloods slip outside the top six, only percentage behind Bacchus Marsh.
It was also a tough weekend for Melton South and Darley.
The Panthers took on fourth-placed Lake Wendouree, but fell way short, losing 58-37.
Savannah Forbes scored 22 goals for the Panthers, with all shooters on court struggling with their shooting accuracy.
Darley never got into the game against Ballarat. The Devils trailed by 19 goals at quarter-time, after managing just four goals in the opening quarter.
It was a struggle throughout for the Devils with the margin increasing every quarter in the 82-21 loss.
Ballarat had more than 100 shots for the game. For the Devils, Ruby Ancrum scored 11 goals, while Lauren Martin scored nine. Darley remains on the bottom, with just one win for the year.
Bacchus Marsh had the bye. Despite not playing, the Cobras moved up a spot on the ladder into sixth. Other winners were North Ballarat City and East Point. This week, Melton hosts Redan, Melton South travels to Sebastopol and Darley and Bacchus Marsh play in the local derby.
