Ballarat FL name squad

The Ballarat Football League has announced its 23-man squad  for its AFL Victoria Worksafe Community Championships clash with Bendigo Football League on May 13.

Players from nine clubs have been named in the squad, with reigning premiers Bacchus Marsh, local rival Darley  and Redan having the most players named with four.

Bacchus Marsh recruits Scott Sherlock and Dean Heta are joined by star forward Jarrah Maksymow and Jackson Bolton in the squad.  For the Devils, skipper Shane Page and recruits Dan Roy, and Brian and Chris Graham have been selected.

Former Essendon forward Nick Kommer brings some AFL experience to the squad. He’s joined by Panthers team mate Ben Sontino.

Melton duo Braedan Kight and Jack Walker have been picked, while Adam Short is the sole Sunbury Lions representative.

North Ballarat City has three representatives named, while Lake Wendouree has had two players selected and East Point one.

The league said players may be added to the squad between now and next Thursday due to injuries to players who have been selected.

The game is being played at 4pm at Queen Elizabeth Oval, Bendigo.
