The Western Warriors have locked in Kim Bailey as head coach for next year’s Victorian Netball League season.
Bailey led the Warriors in their inaugural season, with the championship side finishing in 10th spot with six wins in one of the closest seasons in the competition.
The Warriors said Bailey’s passion, experience and commitment were instrumental in shaping the club’s VNL season.
“Her leadership on and off the court has inspired our athletes to reach new heights, and we are excited to have her back at the helm,” the Warriors said..
“Under Kim’s guidance, we look forward to next season filled with growth, teamwork, and determination.”
Bailey said it was exciting to be back on board for next season.
Preparations for season two are already underway with trials scheduled for September 2 and 9.
“We’re preparing for trials and seeing what new talent is around,” Bailey said.
“We want to add to our squad with new players that complement the group we already had.
“It comes around quickly. I’m excited about what we can produce in 2025.”
Meanwhile, two Warriors young stars have been named in state squads.
After being named in the original extended under-19 and under-17 state squads, Ella Closter and Kiara Boyd have been in the final 25 for each squad respectively.
Closter, who plays with Darley in the Ballarat Netball League, was one of the VNL’s top shooters in the under-23 competition in her first season at that level.
Boyd, a star defender, made her VNL debut in round one as well.
Both were selected as reserves for the state teams earlier this year.
