Bacchus Marsh returned to the winners list on Saturday, beating Lake Wendouree in the Ballarat Football League.
After dropping their last two matches, including kicking just one goal the week before, the Cobras were switched on early against the Lakers.
A four goal to nil first quarter saw the Cobras open up a lead against an inaccurate Lakers side, and would ultimately decide the game.
The Cobras extended the margin by a point in the second quarter and after an even third quarter, the margin was 24 points at the last change.
Again the two sides were even in the last quarter, with the Cobras winning 11.13 (79)-7.12 (54).
Jake Owen kicked four goals for the Cobras and was named one of their best. Ryley Stuhldreier was named the Cobras best, continuing his good form.
The win keeps the Cobras in touch with the top six. They sit a game behind fourth and outside the top six.
Bacchus Marsh week they face third placed Redan at home. The two sides are yet to face each other this year.
In other results, Melton downed Melton South, 10.15 (75)-5.3 (33).
Inaccurate kicking by the Bloods kept the Panthers in the game for two and half quarters.
Ben Archard, Liam Carter and Ryan Davis kicked two goals each for the Bloods.
Seventeen-year-old Ben McMahon was named the Bloods’ best, while first-gamer Harrison Hanley had a good outing.
Darley remains in second despite losing to East Point in the top-of-the-table clash.
Darley led at the three breaks, but wasn’t able to hold off East Point, which won 15.9 (99)-11.11 (77).
Shane Page was named the Devils’ best in the loss.
