A-League

It was back to business for Western United as pre-season got underway last week. After a few weeks of celebrating the club’s first championship, the playing group returned to training last week. Star defender Josh Risdon said they were all excited to get back on the track. “It was a good little break,” he said. “Obviously it’s a bit different winning the grand final and celebrating for a while. I really enjoyed the break and got back home to see some family and spend some quality time with them.” For more head to www.starweekly.com.au.

NAB League

The Western Jets have one eye on the future in the NAB League Boys competition.

The Jets have won just two games this season, as they have felt the flow on effects from the COVID-19 pandemic. Coach Robbie Chancellor said it had been tough at times this season. “We have been a bit thin on talent,” he said. “It’s the nature of the last two years that has hurt the region with the commitment to football and not being at school or playing football.” For more go to www.starweekly.com.au.
