Evan, Luke and Adam were happy to have a kick around the newly resurfaced Ballan Recreation Reserve last week.
The reserve is ready for action again after undergoing a $100,000 resurfacing by Moorabool council.
The Ballan and Bungaree footy teams put the new ground to the test last weekend in a Central Highlands Football League round two clash.
Mayor Paul Tatchell said the ground was in great condition for the game and the season ahead.
“With a growing population in Ballan, there’s increased demand for usage of the reserve,” Cr Tatchell said.
Ballan Football Netball Club president Billy Smith said the ground was now in excellent shape.
Its ongoing maintenance has now been handed over to the Ballan Recreation Reserve management committee.
Completing the project, a cricket wicket will be laid after the last home game of the football season.
