A well-made 42 from lower-order batsman Shaun Taylor (below) wasn’t enough to get Bacchus Marsh over the line in its final-round Gisborne District Cricket Association match against Sunbury United.
After being set 180 for victory, Bacchus Marsh slumped to 5-17 before a middle-order fightback from Taylor and Thomas Wardell kept the match alive. The Bulls moved to 7-99 before another flurry of wickets ended the run chase.
The result means Bacchus Marsh finished the McIntyre Cup season sixth on the ladder with a 7-7 record.
