The Eynesbury Eagles’ top two sides remain on track to finish on top of their ladders in the Western Suburbs Churches and Community Cricket Association after hard-fought wins on Saturday.
In A-grade, the Eagles struggled to chase down Altona Sports’ modest 75.
The Eagles appeared to be coasting at 5-49, but then the wickets started to fall.
They found themselves needing nine runs with one wicket remaining.
No.10 Ray Davis and No.11 Mark Pino got them across the line, the team registering their own humble 9-78.
In B-grade, the Eagles were six wickets down when they reached the Altona Roosters’ 120.
The Eagles are two points clear of St Johns on the B-grade ladder and eight points clear of Manor Lakes in A-grade.
