Melton Centrals continued their strong start to the season in the Williamstown District Cricket Association with a hard-fought 19-run win against Williamstown Congs.
Batting first in the one-day clash, the Centrals had smashed 7-178 by the end of their 40 overs.
In reply, Williamstown recovered from an early wicket to reach 1-76. But, despite hard work to keep up the required run rate, Williamstown ran out of batsmen and was bowled out for 159 with 15 balls to spare.
This victory elevates Centrals into the A-turf top four.
Elsewhere, Melton South easily accounted for Caroline Springs, winning by six wickets at Blackwood Reserve.
