Rockbank coach Rob Lynch is readying his players for a season-defining clash against Lancefield this week.
The Rams are sixth on the Riddell District Football League ladder and will have a chance to push into the top four with a win.
But a loss would see Rockbank in a battle to make the finals.
Lynch believes getting the four points is vital against eighth-placed Lancefield.
“We have marked Macedon and Lancefield as our two danger games this year,” he said.
“They’re the ones we must win. Everything is going into this round to make sure we get the four points.
“Lancefield knocked us off at home last year so I’ve made sure the guys remember what happened in that match. There should be a bit of a revenge factor there.
“This game means a lot to us. It really does define if we are going to play finals this year.”
Rockbank will go into the game in solid form after a tough hit-out against league leader Romsey last week.
Unlike many RDFL sides, the Rams didn’t get blown away at Romsey Park, fighting out a tough encounter before going down by 45 points.
The 12.13 (85) to 6.4 (40) win gave Romsey an 11-0 record for the season.
With a limited bench in the second half because of injuries during the match, Lynch said there were a number of positives to take from the clash.
“Romsey has blown teams off the park out there,” he said. “I think the least a team had lost by out there was about 76 points. That’s a positive.
“We let a few late goals go through. We had a couple of injuries early which cost us. We didn’t really have any rotations in the second half. The guys fought on really well. I was really happy with their endeavour and they didn’t really let it blow out.”
In other RDFL results from the weekend, Sunbury Kangaroos defeated Melton Centrals and Diggers Rest was too good for Macedon.
