It was an unsuccessful weekend for Ballan Cricket Club’s juniors, with grand final losses for their under-16s and under-14s.
The under-16s lost their final outright, being rolled for 40 in their first innings. North Ballarat made 117 in reply before Ballan posted 87 in its second dig.
North Ballarat made the 17 runs required for the outright, losing just one wicket.
The under-14s came closer to grabbing a flag. Batting first, Ballan made 9-113, thanks largely to an unbeaten 50 by opening batsman Jack McGregor.
Golden Point passed the total eight down, before being dismissed for 115.
