Melton and Bacchus Marsh were painted red, white and blue last Tuesday and Wednesday as the Western Bulldogs undertook an annual community camp.
Grades 3 and 4 Coburn Primary School pupils were among those who took part in a player-led clinic.
“It’s the third year in a row they’ve visited,” teacher Joanne Lanagan said. “The children love getting to meet the players and getting their autographs.’’
Players visited shopping centres and Bacchus Marsh hospital. Bulldog defender Dale Morris said the players loved the community camps as much as the children.
“You don’t realise how much of an impact you have on them until you get out here and run some drills, talk to them, sign some autographs and make their day,” he said.
“They remember you and you remember them and form that relationship with them. There’s no better feeling.”
