The Riddell District Football Netball League has signed two major deals to help secure its future.
It has reached agreement with Melton Toyota for the car dealership to remain the league’s naming rights sponsor until the end of the 2016 season.
RDFNL operations manager Toby Boyle said: “It’s partnerships like this that can help not just the league but clubs as well, as the more financial support the league can obtain from companies like Melton Toyota, the more the league can pass this support back to clubs.”
Melton Toyota principal Grant Harrison, a former RDFNL footballer, said a desire to help local football was behind his commitment to the league. “We support numerous clubs in the area, as well as the Riddell umpires, so supporting the league is a no-brainer and we look forward to being a part of the local footballing fabric for years to come.”
The league will also have a new home after it agreed with Melton council to move to Arnolds Creek Recreation Reserve.
The new facility has two ovals, a sports pavilion and car parking.
Melton mayor Bob Turner said the partnership would provide community benefits.
“With the league coming on board we can achieve a bigger and better pavilion as well as improving and increasing community participation,” Cr Turner said.
The RDFNL’s new headquarters will have four offices, a tribunal room, reception facility and a small storage area.
