Blackwood Reserve saw no action for Melton South on Saturday, but Melton Centrals played, and lost, at Gellibrand in A-Turf.
The loss means both Melton teams are outside the top four, with Centrals fifth (21) on percentage behind Williamstown Imperials, while Melton South (12) is eighth.
A shortened one-dayer at Digman Reserve ended in heartbreak for Centrals as Gellibrand squeaked home by a wicket. Centrals posted 132, with Ben Notman (34no) and Adam Hullett (28) the top scorers.
Matt Murphy (4-48) and Andrew Zenonos (3-24) then reduced Gellibrand to 8-108 in the chase. But a 20-run stand between Callum Caiger (11no) and Cooper Johnstone (seven) got Gellibrand within four runs, before No.11 Ashley Fine (7no) came in to take the win.
