East Ballarat’s wagging tail denied Darley victory on Saturday in the Ballarat Cricket Association, with the Lions losing by two wickets at Darley Park.
Defending 142 from the previous weekend, Darley was in danger of a lopsided loss as East Ballarat reached 1-97.
But a rally from Chris MacKenzie (4-40) and Daniel Vakirevic (3-43) led to an East Ballarat collapse of 5-22.
Nicholas Waldie (13no) and No.10 Joshua Brown (19no) saved the game for East Ballarat with a partnership that took the score to 8-147 by the 55th over. Darley hosts Wendouree in a two-day game starting this Saturday.
