Diggers Rest-Bulla Village continues to take Gisborne District Cricket Association B-grade by storm after a 73-run win against Macedon extended the Burras’ perfect start.
The promoted outfit has won four on the trot, and again proved too strong with bat and ball as 4-169 defeated 96 on Saturday.
Only a 72-run stand for the fifth wicket saved Macedon from total obliteration, with Patrick Trotta (36) and Chris Axton (41) steadying Macedon’s chase after it slumped to 4-18 early. But Axton’s exit at 5-90 sparked a 6-6 collapse.
Macedon was all out by the 31st over.

Darren Quarrell (4-19) and Shannon O’Keefe (3-13) were the best of the Diggers Rest-Bulla Village bowlers.
Earlier, half centuries to Paul Deeble (53) and Lindon Dowsett (54no) guided the Burras to their match-winning total.
This time a year ago, St Anthonys was in a similar position in the GDCA’s second tier.
But the newly promoted McIntyre Cup side is struggling this season and remains winless after another sub-100 score, this time in an 83-run loss to Sunbury.
Chasing Sunbury’s 9-163, St Anthonys batted out its 40 overs but made only 9-80 in reply. Rod Oosterhoff’s 3-14 made him
St Anthonys’ best.
Division rival Bacchus Marsh is one of four teams in a tie for first place after an 82-run win against Wallan. Dylan Wright hit 85 before 22 each for Tom Wardell and Rhys Watson kept the tail wagging as the Bulls posted 202 at Greenhill Oval.
Watson, Mark Hooper and Tom McColl took two wickets each to restrict Wallan to 8-141 in reply.
Riddell stunned Sunbury United by bowling the reigning premier out for 70 in reply to 7-184. Woodend joined Riddell, Baccus Marsh and Sunbury at the top by beating Romsey 2-132 in reply to 8-130.
