Melton will need to produce premiership form to stay alive in
Ballarat Netball League finals after winning through to a match against
North Ballarat City this Sunday.
The Bloods, who knocked out reigning A-grade premier Lake
Wendouree by nine goals on Sunday, will face the minor premier in this
Sunday’s first semi-final.
Melton led at every change to beat Lake
Wendouree 46-37 in the second elimination final at Eastern Oval. East
Point rolled North Ballarat City 47-46 in the qualifying final and will
play Sunbury, who knocked out Redan, in the second semi.
Melissa McCauley shot 36 goals from 47 attempts as Melton opened a double-figure lead by the third quarter.
Melton held Lake Wendouree at arm’s length thereafter.
Sunday’s first semi-final between North Ballarat City and Melton starts at 1.15pm at Eastern Oval in Ballarat.
In B grade, Sunbury Lions knocked out Bacchus Marsh 16-13 in the elimination final.
In C grade, Bacchus Marsh eliminated Lake Wendouree 31-26 to advance to a first semi-final against Ballarat.
In under-18.5s, Darley’s season is over after a 32-25 loss to Lake Wendouree in the elimination final.
