Melton Centrals claimed a place in the Riddell District Netball League grand final after seeing off Riddell Bombers by five goals on Saturday.
Romsey has stirred from fifth on the table and could yet be the
Blues’ grand-final opponent after dumping out Sunbury Kangaroos in
straight sets.
Centrals won the A grade second semi-final by five goals, 38-33, against Riddell on Saturday to advance directly to the decider.

Twice stretching the gap beyond six goals, Centrals were pegged back to level by a Bomber comeback in the second quarter.
But a Centrals surge in the third, led by goalers Renee Hulls (20)
and Bec Morabito (18), meant Riddell was too far adrift for a second
comeback.
The Bombers will attempt to bring coach Yasmin McGregor and key
mid-courter Cayley Armstrong back from short-term injuries for this
weekend’s preliminary final against Romsey.
The Redbacks revived the form that has taken them to three
consecutive grand finals by knocking out Sunbury Kangaroos 43-38 on
Saturday.
Sunbury led by small margins early but it was Romsey that finished the stronger after scores were level at three-quarter time.
Hope Hamilton shot 26 goals to lead the scoring while playing
coach Danni Davidson and mid-courter Toni Lind were better Redbacks
players.
Saturday’s preliminary final between Riddell and Romsey starts at 12.30pm at Tony Clarke Reserve, Macedon.
In B grade, Broadford plays Riddell, with Macedon waiting in the grand final.
In C grade, Rupertswood plays Riddell, with Sunbury Kangaroos already in the grand final.
