Big V: Melton Thoroughbreds in lucky 13

MELTON made it lucky 13 on Saturday with a 10-point win against Casey Cavaliers in Big V men’s division 2.

The 83-73 win and favourable results in other games means Melton has secured the minor premiership with a round to play. Melton is on top with 13 wins and four losses, ahead of Pakenham (11-6) and Keilor (10-6).

Jeff Crowe scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds on Saturday, while Shane Moroney (16) and Maverick Clissold (15) were other top scorers. Melton will finish its home-and-away campaign against Shepparton Gators in an 8pm tip-off at Melton Indoor Recreation Centre on Saturday.

Melton’s youth league 2 men lost 57-53 against Casey to fall to sixth.
